Wearing

The simplest care is wear. The natural oils of your skin slow tarnish, and daily friction keeps high points bright while recesses darken; that contrast is the form doing its work.

The sea shapes these forms; it shouldn’t finish them. Take your piece off before swimming, because salt water, chlorine, and hot springs all accelerate tarnish. The same goes for perfume, sunscreen, and lotion: put the silver on last, take it off first.

Cleaning

For everyday dullness, a soft lint-free cloth is enough. For deeper tarnish, lukewarm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush; rinse, then dry completely before storing.

A silver polishing cloth restores full brightness when you want it. Skip chemical dips and ultrasonic cleaners: they strip the recesses that give each casting its depth.

Storing

Between wears, keep each piece in its own pouch or the box it arrived in, closed, away from humidity. Air and moisture are what tarnish silver; a closed pouch does most of the work. An anti-tarnish strip in the box extends the interval between cleanings.

Repairs

If a piece breaks or a clasp fails, write to oustre01@gmail.com with a photo. Because every piece is cast individually, most damage can be repaired at the bench, and where it can’t, a new casting can be made from the same form.
